The unique geographical location of Ethiopia contributes to the production of high quality coffee beans, making Ethiopian coffee one of the highest ranked beans in the world. Mekuria, founder of Wete Ambela Coffee, works together with multiple independent coffee producers and runs a washing station at Wote Konga in Yirgacheffe, southern Ethiopia. The trust between Mekuria and farmers stem from the efforts he makes in improving the community, such as by investing in building hospitals and elementary schools to provide better access to health care and education. Mekuria selects and grades the coffee cherries during three different harvest periods - beginning, middle, and end. This specific lot of coffee is from the middle harvest, where the coffee cherries are significantly sweeter compared to other harvest points. This exclusive coffee is exceptionally fruity and sweet like red grapes, blackcurrant, and has a pleasant bitterness of chocolate.
