Named after a waterfall which crosses the farm, Gatta Farm is located in a former natural forest in Sidama, Ethiopia. The farm also has its own drying station, a lodge, and training facilities for the farmers, all designed with care to preserve the natural forestry and vegetation. Here, all members of the community have opportunities to work, including women who are involved in quality control and processing. This specific lot of coffee is exceptionally sweet, thanks to the anaerobic natural processing method. This method involves the cherries to ferment in air-tight containers (anaerobic), then drying on the sun beds with the whole coffee cherry (natural). The result is a vibrant coffee sweet like strawberries, apricots, with floral notes of hibiscus.
