Edu Cafe is a family collective of over 40 producers based in the region of La Paz and Santa Barbera, Honduras. The heart of the collective consists of a tight knit community of family and friends who grew up together, and their goal is to raise the standard of educational and medical services to the children of the coffee communities in Honduras.
In the summer of 2024, we hosted a public cupping session with Giovanni from Edu Cafe at our store in Amsterdam. We were introduced to many incredible coffees, but this specific coffee from Ariel Rodriguez stood out.
Ariel's farms lay between 1,500 - 1,600 m.a.s.l, near the community of San Sebastian, La Paz, where his family have lived for generations. As a second-generation coffee producer, he is invested in raising the quality of his beans by implementing new processes and new varieties. From the Edu Cafe collective, Ariel is the first to offer coffees in three processes - natural, washed, and honey. We chose the natural Pacamara, which expresses the complex sweetness and brightness of pineapple, passion fruit, and raspberry.
